Campus LAN

A LAN (Local Area Network) is used to establish a physical connection between computers to exchange data and to establish an internet-connection. The physical access on the RPTU campus is done by using the network sockets provided in several locations. There is a distinction made between public areas such as libaries, lection halls, foyers and restricted areas like office labs.

Usually network sockets in public areas can be used by everyone. The prerequesits are similar to the usage of the  wireless LAN. The requirement is a valid RHRZ-account. If you need access via a network socket in a non-public area, you need to get in contact with the administrator of your workgroup or faculity.
