Configuration for Android
1. Installation and configuration
First please install the free of charge App Cisco AnyConnect ICS from your Google Play Store. (Requires Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or later versions. Please observe our notices for the use with older versions of Android in point 4 further down.)

Please install future updates of the VPN-Client, as soon as these are brought to your attention in the Google Play Store.

To end the VPN-Connection, call up the AnyConnect App again and disconnect from "TU Kaiserslautern". Please note that an existing VPN-Connection may considerably shorten battery charge.

General support for all Android devices is only provided beginning with Version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), as the so called "Android VPN Framework (AVF)"was only introduced from this version on. Devices with older versions are supported as follows, partially however with different Apps:
5. Information for “Opera Turbo"
Users of the Opera Browsers should observe to deactivate the option "Opera Turbo". "Opera Turbo" serves the purpose to speed up the connection to websites. For this purpose, websites are condensed prior to that by the Opera-Server. As Opera-Servers cannot access university internal contents, these contents will not be displayed in the browser with an active "Opera Turbo".
In order to solve the problem, open your Opera Browser. Click on the Opera symbol at the bottom right and select “Settings”. Deactivate the option "Opera Turbo" there.
