Server and Remote Login

The RHRZ offers its users access to Linux and Windows servers in dialog mode as well as to a high-performance computer for computationally intensive tasks. These pages provide an overview of the available systems and their performance as well as the internal and external access options to the systems.

Linux terminal servers (dialog servers) are available for working under Linux. For working under Windows, the Windows remote desktop servers (terminal servers) are available.
The high-performance computer 'Elwetritsch' bundles the resources available at the RPTU for high-performance computing and is available to all researchers at the RPTU.

Access to the above systems is partly only possible within the network of the RPTU. In order to access these systems from outside, a VPN connection may have to be established beforehand.

Among other devices, Rangee clients are used at the RPTU for flexible access to the servers, e.g. also from the home office. For a quick introduction to the operation and configuration of devices with RangeeOS, we have prepared a detailed guide.
