Windows Remote Desktop Server

Expansion of the Windows remote desktop servers (terminal servers) of the RHRK - Shutdown of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)

Until April 23, 2021, we will be restructuring our Windows remote server landscape. The terminal server farm will be enlarged and the scope of the software provided expanded. The provision of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) will be discontinued in return.

In order to access your familiar personal Windows desktop remotely, the remote desktop server (terminal server) "" will be available to students after the conversion. Employees will continue to log on to "".

Of course, we will do everything possible to minimize any possible restrictions for you during the restructuring phase.

The RHRK provides Windows servers on which you can work remotely from outside the campus. In this case the programs are executed on the server, the display and control is done on your own device. (Remote Desktop)

The Windows remote desktop servers (terminal servers) provide each RHRK account holder access to their own Windows desktop environment with their personal home directory.

For remote access to their personal Windows desktop, students can use the terminal servers at the address "ts‑stud.uni‑", employees log in at "ts.uni‑".

To connect to the servers from off-campus, establish the remote desktop connection to "ts‑stud.uni‑" or "ts.uni‑" via the gateway server rdsgate.uni‑ A VPN connection is not required.

The client workstations in Terminalpool 1 or Terminalpool 2 located in the RHRK building (building 34) or one of the workstations in the university library are already setup to use the Windows terminal server.
